The selection of hydraulic cylinders first depends on the size and pressure parameters of the product, which are the most basic and do not require further explanation.
Several points that are easily overlooked need to be emphasized.
1. Material of the cylinder block. Due to different usage environments, the material requirements for the cylinder body are also different. For example, products that come into direct contact with seawater must use stainless steel material. For ordinary usage environments without special requirements, 20 grade steel can be used at a much lower price. Of course, this material is also the most common material currently available.
2. Material of piston rod. There are many aspects in this section that are not explicitly mentioned, such as the thickness of chrome plating on the piston rod. Nowadays, in the Chinese market, the commonly used rod is a chrome plated rod with a thickness of less than 0.2, which has no problems in normal use environments. However, if the temperature is too low, this type of piston rod will be damaged on the surface, which will affect the use of the entire oil cylinder. If used in environments with very low temperatures, it is recommended to use piston rods with thicker chrome plating. If used in seawater environment, it is best to use ceramic piston rods.
